Only mix small quantities at a time until you have become accustomed to the fast setting nature of the product. Never add water after initial mixing, as this will impair the strength of the adhesive. A product that has started to set must be discarded.
Mix Validus Velox with clean water, until you achieve adhesive of a smooth and lump-free homogeneous consistency.
As a guide for powder to water ratio, 20kg of Validus Velox requires approximately 5.40 – 6.60 ** litres of water.
Allow the product to stand for about 2 minutes. The adhesive is now ready for use and must be used within 30 minutes.
Before starting, all substrates must be clean, dry and strong enough to support the weight of the tiles, tile adhesive and grout. Remove all dust, dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants that may affect adhesion.
Validus Velox must be applied as a smooth and continuous uniform layer, using a notched trowel, suitable to tiles sizes to be fixed. Validus Velox can be applied to a maximum bed thickness of 30mm.
Ensuring the adhesive is still moist, bed tiles into the adhesive, ensuring full coverage of adhesive between tile and substrate. Protect the surface from frost until the adhesive is fully set.
Clean surplus adhesive from the tiles and joints as soon as possible as set adhesive will prove very difficult to remove later. Clean tools after use with water. Product for professional use only.
Grouting:
In ideal conditions, grouting can begin after 3 hours. Foot traffic can be accepted after 6 hours. This time can vary depending on temperature and site conditions. Impervious surfaces may extend the set time. The recommended grout for use with Validus Velox is Validus Supra.
Coverage:
4-5m² @ 10mm bed.
Storage:
The product must be stored in unopened and sealed, in its original packaging in a cool, dry place.
Shelf Life:
Approximately 12 months from the date printed on the side of the packaging.
Technical Notes:
Validus Velox contains a reducing agent to control the level of Chromium VI. When stored correctly the activity of the reducing agent will be maintained and when mixed with water the product will produce no more than 2ppm Chromium VI. Use of the product beyond the declared shelf life may increase the risk of an allergic reaction.
